You all know the standard chopsticks that are given out at hawker stalls in Asia. They look like that:
Did you ever notice that the two chopsticks are connected with a little wooden tab at their ends?
In order to separate the two chopsticks, you should break the tab away, as shown in the following photo:
The tab can then be used as a chopstick support, which prevents the tips of the chopsticks from touching the table, when you put them aside, e.g. for drinking from a cup. This is shown here:
This keeps the chopsticks and the table clean, whatever is more important for you.
